Joe Lloyd

I'm Joe. I make code go "beep" "boop".

13 years writing software — Java first, back in 2012, then most of a career in JavaScript. Currently freelancing out of Amsterdam. The work I like best is the kind where the hard part is making something complicated feel obvious: large front-ends, gnarly state, and performance budgets that actually get enforced.

Off the clock I build tools for the things I actually do — tabletop wargames, painting miniatures, digging around inside PlayStation disc images, learning Mandarin. Most of them start as "I wonder if…" and end up on the projects page.
